About Memphis

  In our opinion, exit 13 is the best exit in the Memphis area for an overnight stop if you are passing through Memphis.
  One problem; if you are westbound, you just may find yourself embroiled in the morning rush hour traffic - and it is very bad here. Of course, you could depart at 5 a.m. but you will still find a lot of traffic. An alternative is to spend the night in West Memphis - across the river in Arkansas.
  If you intend to do some touring in Memphis you probably wish to include Beale Street. If you are eastbound, take exit 1-B (exit 1-C if westbound) and head south on US-64 to Beal Street (about 13 blocks counting the streets on your right).
